What happen to Pink Stiletto in 2007??

A year has passed since the last gig. The six members of the band decided to take a break from their jamming, gigging and recording to pursue their other worldly matters. The next post will begin the life of each members in regards with music and non-music stuffs. Pink Stiletto is not dead...

Marine Cove East Coast

22nd April 2006, Marine Cove East Coast. After a four months break, we had our 4th gig organised by Heartrock Singapore at this wonderful place. Four bands were performing that evening and ours was the second band. The other bands are REI, Fastrack and Terminal Cry. We gathered at Mc Donald's with an inclusion of our good friend Zulfa who was the Videoman that day ( thanks man! ).

As we reached the gig area, the first band REI was preparing their set. We were shocked to see REI in FULL UNIFORM. J-Rock influenced as what we were told with full make-ups. They played Japanese rock pieces.

7pm - It was our turn to showcase our pieces... err.. I mean songs.
1) Invasion ( instrumental: original ) - We were afraid that the audience might find the song too scary..what the heck! We invaded East Coast!
2) People Like You ( original ) - We saw an 'Ang moh' kid dancing along with the song..pretty funny.
3) Forever In Dreams ( ballads: original ) - Slowed down a bit with this track, got chance to relax before the next. Lots of applause for this particular one.???? ( strange but true ).
4) Seven Bubbles ( instrumental: original ) - New intro with Fad's solo...ok...got everyone include ourselves shocked!
5) You Give Love A Bad Name ( Bon Jovi ) - WE SCREWED UPPPP!! Most of the audience can relate the song with few of them humming the chorus with us..but...WE SCREWED UUP!
6) What Can I Say ( ballads: original ) - Aaahh...relax time again...
7) Don't Sweat The Little Stuff ( original ) - Haha..our favourite! Dynn went all the way towards the audience during the solo part followed by Han and Eirfan. Rocked da' house!
8) Seven Bubbles- Encore

In conclusion, our best performance so far! More work to be done for us Pinksters to elevate to a higher level of providing entertaining rock show on stage!

Review of Countdown at Boon Lay 2005

31st December 2005. We first went for our jamming session at Beat Merchant, yah..to warm up before the gig. Really wanna make sure that we can give a good show for the night. We flew to Jurong Point to have our late lunch and for the record..it was Vik's first visit to Jurong POint.We celebrated Vik's debut to Jurong POint by having carrot cake at Banquet..
The venue of the gig..hmm at the heartland Boon Lay Drive. Big stage though with few groups of other performing acts such as cheerleaders, modern dance, vocals and of course bands. We reported to the liason person by the name of Max, after a hard time locating her but she's cute though and no doubt about it. Ok not to sidetrack too much, rain started pouring in like cats and dogs ( no cats and dogs were involved in the scene ). We were stuck under the canvas shelter for about 2hrs, more or less we were pissed. It added on when we were told that the equipment on stage has not been set up. The best part was, they don't even have guitar cables. Fadhly had to return to his home to get the cables..lesson to be learn.
OUrs is the first band to perform after a dance act. Really find it amusing when the host called up our band name with a long tOOOH..at the end but the heck we went up there and rock on! Performing with lights for the first time really makes a difference. Dynn can't swing his guitar, Eirfan can't shake his booty while shredding and in the middle of the set, Han's cables came off due to the short cable we've used..lesson number 2. Drums were not mic up and kick pedal was inaudible totally. The keyboard's amp almost cracked up with the output. Not everything is black because Faizal really rocked the house with his improved version of singing on the stage, thanks to the Queen's DVD I guess..
We parted that night by wishing each other a happy new year and more colourful shows ahead.

Countdown 2006 At Boon Lay

Ladies and gentlemen. Pink Stiletto will be performing for the upcoming countdown for the year 2006 at Boon Lay. It will be held at Boon Lay Place opposite Boon Lay CC and will be playing alongside other wonderful bands such as LGF and Leaventrait. There will be foam party too hehe... So come on down and bring along your friends, neighbours, your neighbour's girlfriends hehe... and also camera coz we guys are dying to have photos taken together with you guys ( you know who you are! ). Thanks again to those wonderful people who have been supporting us since the first gig we had back in June.

5th November 2005 National Youth Park. Pink Stiletto didn't manage to qualify for the Finals of the Yamaha Asianbeat Band Competition. Nevertheless we managed to gain something out of the competition which is experience. We played our favourite 'Don't Sweat The Little Stuff' that day. Every player in the band played their hearts out but what were lacking in us was experience. We need to have more gigs to have more exposure playing in front of good crowd. You guys should check out Dynn's guitar swing Ala Malmsteen that day haha...lucky the strap was still intact.

We're now trying to get a gig slot on 31st December for the Rock Resolution Gig. So pinksters..stay tune on this page for any updates...to the players, we're back in business.

Fadhly

Our Story

Year 2004.. Fadhly decided to form a rock band with his cousin Eirfan as he would like to explore more in his music writing. So it was originally an acoustic 2 piece band playing acoustic guitars with Fadhly on vocals. Our very first live performance was performed at the National University of Singapore GuildHouse for the cardiac family day for Cardiology Department of National University Hospital. We played an original piece called 'The Precious Moment'.

We added in Dynn, Eirfan's secondary schooolmate of Bukit Panjang Government High School as our drummer. We started jamming a few times with the introduction of two new songs, 'Invasion' and 'People Like You'. Fadhly recruited Alvyn from the internet as our drummer as Dynn picks up the electric guitar for the first time. We had fun times jamming for two more session till Alvyn left the band for personal reason. We were back to square one but managed to rope in Faizal, another Eirfan's ex-schoolmate to be our bassist.

BUt.. Faizal decided to leave the band as academic demand was too tight for him to handle....

Fortunately Rob was recruited to be our drummer. We were glad that we have found a good drummer at last. Han was recruited by Fadhly in NUH while doing his attachment there. Han was currently then, playing in a metal band decided to join our quest.
Finally Pink Stiletto line-up was complete for their maiden gig 'Wireless Session' at the Substation on 18th June 2005.

Soon after the gig, Rob left the band for no reason at all..

Faizal, our ex-bassist was invited back to be our vocalist taking over Fadhly's role. Faizal managed to introduce Vik, his schoolmate in Junior College to be our 3rd drummer. Vik blew us all with his dazzling drumming strokes in our jamming sesion. We have found THE drummer! We managed to perform at Singapore expo for the expo gig organized by Heartrocksingapore on the 20th August 2005.

This is the current Pink Stiletto line-up for the year 2005-2006.
